On July 27 of 2015, Nepal Cancer Relief Society (NCRS) in collaboration with "The International Federation Of Head & Neck Oncologic Societies"
(IFHNOS) conducted "World Head and Neck Cancer Day" Interaction Program. There were approximately 120 people attend the program. In the program, board members of NCRS, media reports, doctors, cancer survivor and their relatives were present. Dr Rajendra Prasad Baral, Vice President of NCRS and Country Coordinator (IFHNOS), Nepal was the resource person.

The program was inaugurated by our cancer survivors Mr Man Bahadur Manamaaju, Mrs Mausami Chaturvedi, Dr Purnima Rajkarnikar alongside with Dr Rajendra Prasad Baral and Mr Lokendra Kumar. Our Chief Guest: Rt Honorable Prime Minister Sushil Koirala could not attend the program due to the prior work commitments. However, Rt Honorable Prime Minister sent us the Congratulation Letter for creating awareness about the Head and Neck Cancer. During the program, Dr Rajendra Baral highlighted and discussed the importance of Head and Neck cancer awareness. Furthermore, he also discussed the importance of early diagnosis of cancer screening and the bad impacts of tobacco products. Mrs Payden, The Acting WHO Representative of Nepal also gave her remarks on the whole program. She also recommended that effective and preventative awareness on tobacco products need to be implement in Nepal. On the other hand, during the interaction period, each cancer survivor patients introduced themselves and explained about their struggle being a cancer patient and also expressed their happiness after cancer treatment. In the meanwhile there was also discussion of formation of "Head and Neck Cancer Survivor Support Group". So, that, each of the survivor can motivates other cancer patients in future and also create awareness about early diagnosis in general population. The board members of NCRS also wished to support the group to empower the cancer patient and general population. Dr Purnima Rajkarnikar was elected as Coordinator for "Head and Neck Cancer Survivor Support Group". The entire cancer survivor and their relatives, doctors and board member of NCRS showed their motivating participation in the program. They all were very interested in the subject matters of the program. The interaction program had covered all the information about the Head and Neck cancer and the program was to empower the entire cancer survivor. In conclusion, the interaction program was very informative.
