Cancer Awareness Program @ Siphal
Nov 13 2014On 22nd Kartik, 2071 B.S., a Cancer Awareness Program was held organized in collaboration, by Pashupati Bhandareshwor Dharmik Samiti, Nepal Cancer Relief Society - Kathmandu Branch Office, NCRS Central Office, NCRS Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital and Rotary Club of Bagmati, in the premises of Pashupati Bhandareshwor Mandir.
The program commenced with the dais-call, which consisted of Mr. President of Dharmik Samiti, one of the local Constituent Assembly members, Mr. Lokendra Kumar Shrestha (President of NCRS), Mr. Vimal Kumar Hoda (President of Rotary Club of Bagmati), Dr. Prakash Raj Neupane (Medical Director of NCRS Bhaktapur Cancer Hsopital), Dr. Aarati Shah (Bir Hospital) and the Executive Board members of NCRS Kathmandu Branch Office. Then after, Ms. Anar Basnet of NCRS Kathmandu Branch Office talked about the program highlights, which was followed by remarks on cancer control by Mr. Shrestha , Mr. Hoda, the Constituent Assembly Member and the President of Dharmik Samiti.
After this short pre-awareness program, Dr. Neupane presented on General Cancer which was followed by presentations of Dr. Shah on Cervical Cancer and Sister Prabina Madhikarmi (NCRS Bhaktapur Cancer Hospital) on Breast Cancer. The program had more than 150 local people in attendance.
