Nepal Cancer Relief Society (NCRS) turned 32 yesterday on 31st Bhadra, which was celebrated with a program at the Russian Culture Center. On the occasion, various individuals from governmental and non-governmental sector were present to celebrate the event. The Chief Guest for the event was Mr. Narayan Prakash Saud, Minister for Irrigation.
The program started with calling all the NCRS Executive Board with the Chief Guest and various other Special Guests to dais. This was followed by National Anthem, distribution of flower bouquets to all guests on dais and recital of ideal statement of Social Welfare Council. Mr. Lokendra Kumar Shrestha, President of NCRS welcomed all the attendees and said few lines on the organizational history. This was followed by the launching of the annual publication, Smarika/Souvenir.
Then, Mr Vimal Kumar Hoda, General Secretary of the organization, highlighted on the annual programs and activities related to cancer control and tobacco-free campaign. Later, various guests proceeded with their congratulatory speeches, and after these, there was medal and certificate distribution for various categories within and outside the organizational activities. The President of the organization also gladly accepted a generous donation from Daya Foundation to aid our fight against cancer in Nepal. At the end of the program, Mr. Mahesh Shrestha, Vice-President of NCRS expressed his gratitude to all the guests and attendees for joining us in celebrating the organization's 32nd year completion.
