“Interactive Workshop on Our Commitment to Control and regulation Tobacco”
Mar 03 2023A half day interactive workshop entitled “Interactive Workshop on Our Commitment to Control and regulation Tobacco ” was organized by Nepal Cancer Relief Society at Hotel Aloft, Thamel on 3rd March 2023 (19 Falgun,2079), Friday.
The main objective of the workshop was to interact with different newly elected member of Parliament from different political parties and other concern personnel to collect their commitment to control and regulation of tobacco in Nepal
The program was a success one with the participation of Member of parliament from different political parties, media and other concern personnel.
The program was like semi formal. Mr. Mahesh Shrestha (President of NCRS) about the NCRS objectives and activities to control of Tobacco in Nepal. The program was moderated by Dipendra Bantawa (Central Member of NCRS). In the program, there was a presentation by Dr.Praksh Raj Neupane Effect of Tobacco in Cancer in Nepal and a technical presentation was by Dr Jaya Kumar Gurung ( NDRI) on current situation of tobacco taxation in Nepal and way forward.
In the interactive feedback and discussion session, each participant was given time to share their point of view regarding Tobacco, Tobacco tax . And the workshop was able to collect different perspectives on tobacco and their roles, commitment to control and regulation of tobacco in Nepal. The workshop was successfully completed in the presence of around 30 participants.
